White sausages with onions and potato salad

Cook the sausages on the hot barbecue.

Potato salad

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 3 large gherkins, finely sliced
  • A handful of cocktail onions, finely sliced
  • Parsley, finely chopped
  • Chives, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper


  • Peel and boil the potatoes until they are tender.
  • Drain the potatoes.
  • When they have cooled, cut them into slices.
  • Mix the mayonnaise with the vinegar, mustard, onion, gherkins and cocktail onions.
  • Then mix this through the potatoes.
  • Add chopped parsley and chives to taste.
  • Mix, taste and add herbs or salt and pepper to taste.

Onion chutney

  • 2 red onions
  • 100 ml cider vinegar
  • 2 dessert spoons white sugar
  • Knob of butter
  • Salt and pepper
  • Handful of raisins


  • Steam the finely sliced onion in the butter.
  • Add the sugar and allow to caramelise.
  • Season to taste by adding the herbs and cider vinegar, let it thicken to the desired consistency.
