White sausages with onions and potato salad
Cook the sausages on the hot barbecue.
Potato salad
- 500 g potatoes
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 3 large gherkins, finely sliced
- A handful of cocktail onions, finely sliced
- Parsley, finely chopped
- Chives, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
- Peel and boil the potatoes until they are tender.
- Drain the potatoes.
- When they have cooled, cut them into slices.
- Mix the mayonnaise with the vinegar, mustard, onion, gherkins and cocktail onions.
- Then mix this through the potatoes.
- Add chopped parsley and chives to taste.
- Mix, taste and add herbs or salt and pepper to taste.
Onion chutney
- 2 red onions
- 100 ml cider vinegar
- 2 dessert spoons white sugar
- Knob of butter
- Salt and pepper
- Handful of raisins
Preparation
- Steam the finely sliced onion in the butter.
- Add the sugar and allow to caramelise.
- Season to taste by adding the herbs and cider vinegar, let it thicken to the desired consistency.
